Towards A Sustainable Future
Transition Tynedale is a group of local people who have come together to further the aims and action of the international Transition Movement.
About Transition Tynedale
Transition Tynedale is a local group, that has been active since 2008. We are part of the international Transition network.
We’re a company limited by guarantee run entirely by volunteers. Find out more under How We’re Run.
Our aim is to be inclusive, positive and enabling.
Our overall purpose is to promote projects which help Tynedale – a very special part of Northumberland – mitigate the impact of the climate change and biodiversity emergencies.
Our current project areas are Food, Energy, Nature and Repair. In each section, you can explore our current projects and find out how you can be involved. We welcome new volunteers, expertise, enthusiasm and ideas.
We’re always happy to share our ideas and experience with anyone interested in starting something similar in their own area.

what our volunteers have to say?
What stands out most, however, is the sense of community and shared purpose. It's more than just volunteering; it's being part of a movement that's making a tangible difference in Northumberland.
Volunteering here has deepened my understanding of environmental issues and shown me the power of community action.
So How can I get involved?
Transition Tynedale is entirely reliant on the energy and commitment of our volunteers to make its projects happen.
